Course Details

  • This course has been created to ensure that veterinary medicines are handled and dispensed according to the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2011. This is relevant as many veterinary surgeons who prescribe the veterinary medicines delegate the processes of acquiring, storing, and dispensing them to non-clinical colleagues. In order for dispensing to take place legally, as regulated by the VMD and the RCVS within their Practice Standards Scheme, anyone who handles a veterinary medicine must be deemed "competent" to do so. This course is a simple way to ensure that non-veterinary colleagues are compliant with these regulations.
  • You will be presented with a course module followed by an assessment.
  • If you achieve 80% or more, you pass the course and will receive a printable certificate. If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident.
